The expressed intent of these activities is to provide youngsters the experience and thrill of competition, fellowship and goodwill. Parents, players, coaches and fans should be reminded that the very finest behavior is expected at all times. COACHES ARE ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BEHAVIOR AND CONTROL OF THEIR ASSISTANTS, PLAYERS AND FANS.

Be prepared to follow COVID safe to play preparations and restrictions per CPD determined policy:

OUR GOAL IS TO HAVE ZERO FORFEITS. NO REFUNDS IN ANY AMOUNT WILL BE ISSUED TO TEAMS DISCONTINUING PLAY IN THE LEAGUE FOR WHATEVER REASON.

Our time at the park is significantly time-sensitive. Please have your teams prepared to start your games on time once allowed to enter the facility. Teams awaiting the start of their scheduled game should wait outside until the previous game’s teams have cleared the building.

All players must have signed a release form with the park. Please see park staff for copies.            All player injuries of significance must be reported to park personnel.

Regular Season: By and large, each team represents a single school. All players must be enrolled in that school for the upcoming school year.

Playoffs: All players must have participated in at least half of the team’s regular season games. Adding players to bolster a team’s chances at playoff success should be avoided.

Some Final Thoughts

The collaboration between the John Anthony George Foundation and the Chicago Park District  to provide a quality, respectful and socially responsible summer experience for deserving youth of our city is now in its 24th year. Commitment, camaraderie, good will and perspective characterize our goals for our participating teams, coaches and any fans, if allowed. With little exception, coaches and parents have embraced this vision. Behavior supporting respect for officials is never compromised. Our referees are chosen both for their ability and friendly demeanor. Let’s continue to make this experience one where all involved recall their time with us as memorable, distinct in its execution and accomplished for its service.

Thank you to Katie Fearon and her staff at Chase Park for generously supporting and accommodating our summer league play.
